Learning to Fly

The plan for the Asgard Project has taken a few twists and turns of late however having just returned from the ‘learning to fly’ training mission in the Arco Valley, Italy we are pretty much back on track.

Leo, again with Berghaus teammate Carlos Suarez met up with top wingsuit specialist Robbie Pecnik (Croatia). The trip was non-stop action as we only had 3 days to learn to fly and wrap the shoot up.

Monte Brento in the Arco Valley is one the world’s finest BASE jumping cliffs, the massive overhanging cliff is around 700m and being placed high up the valley a safe exit and plenty of airtime are guaranteed. 5am starts are the standard at Brento allowing time for two jumps in the morning before the wind makes it too dangerous. Then after a quick siesta its back up the hill for an evening jump.

Needless to say everybody returned from the trip safe but exhausted, Leo did very well; ‘he can fly’ was Robbie’s verdict. Fingers crossed for the conditions on the top of Asgard where Leo and the team hope to make a wingsuit descent. A short teaser from the Brento trip giving a taste of the action will follow, next stop Yosemite!
